The swimmers Jordan, Maria, and Becky really can’t leave Beijing without a visit to the the famed Water Cube. There is so much design and technology that go into this building. Here is another link (after loading, click on the middle left “National Aquatics Center”). There isn’t much right now but in one month time some of the greatest achievements will be performed at this facility.

Visiting The Great Wall is one of the highlights of this trip. We had a mixed of emotions, from awe (the length of the wall, the centuries it took to build) to sadness (the millions who died building it). I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.



This is the place that made the news all over the world two decades ago. It was unfortunate but the name Tiananmen comes from beautiful words “heaven”, “peace”, and “gate”.


The Ming Dysnaty was the second last dynasty to rule China. We went to the tombs of the Ming Emperors.
